    Default Bad weather tips

For those of us out working in snow etc, I thought this thread would be a good idea.

    1. Spikes for shoes - can be bought on Ebay for about a fiver and would have saved me from falling over last year.
    2. Bag of salt/grit for icy paths and entrances
    3. Snow shovel
    4. Old duvet in black bag
    5. Hat, gloves, scarf, change of clothes, coat (obvious, I know!)
    6. Bottle of water
    7. Chocolate
    8. Safety shoes/boots - look for Karrimor in Sports Direct. Around £20 for leather steel toe capped shoes.
    9. Ramp to save climbing up and down on slippery surfaces (backs of vans etc)
    10. Over to you...

Spike for shoes? Fine until you work at a golf club lol

    11. A flask of hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
    12. Double check vehicle before departing e,g tyres, antifreeze, washer fluid, heater...

For the money, I thought they are a very good idea and I did fall over last year, a couple of times.

Check you vehicle battery output. You can get them checked at places like Wilco and Halfords. It may be ok when you go out but on a very cold night it can fail.

Refer to my previous (no. 12) Although I forgot to mention the battery it was supposed to cover everything - but well done for specifying

Happened to me last year in the really severe cold weather. Battery just couldnt give enough juice to get started so had to replace the battery for £85 It always amazes me how the engines do manage to start in such cold weather even when the door locks are frozen up.
