I've still kept a pair of my Mackie SRM 450's as I had a set of four until I told the system last night.

I just feel I can get better quality sounding speakers for the same sort of price, and I'm looking to go more lightweight, so less speakers, but better quality.

Yet you're prepared to use a crappy Numark mixer?

Keep the two Mackie's you've got and the subs and invest in a Dennon DNX500 (around£200/250 from eBay) and save the rest.

You don't need any more speakers!

I've sold the Mackie SWA 1501's with the other Mackie speakers I have.

If I was to get another mixer, I would get a Pioneer DJM 3000 or 5000 to match the CMX3000 twin CD player I am using now.

There is absolutly no point what so ever in going for the Pioneer mixer...and this is coming from a Pioneer Lover....the DN-X500 is a hell of alot cheaper and the sound quality is awesome!

Denon mixer and rcf speakers. What size you go for depends on whether you intend to use subs going forward?

...but for someone like Tom, what's more practical?

The DNX500 will do the job fine (IMO - I haven't used the Pioneer )

TBF, I don't think Tom has any intention of changing his mixer. Like I did, he's thinking 'how the hell can a mixer change the sound quality?!'

    You'll be pleasantly surprised Tom.
