It depends on the make and model, hence my question.

I have some Pulse cans that have two banks of dips where you can do various things - fade, chase, static etc and I also have 12 Visio cans which you can set from a CA-8 and CA-32 controllers.

The controller has Chauvet Obey 40 written on the box......I haven't even took it out except to thumb through the instructions....I'm guessing it's a pretty old one????

Get one of these and get rid of the DMX controller. Much easier - I have 4 of the LEDJ cans in a venue and the S2L is very manic on them.

The little controller is very easy to use - I taught my kids to use something similar in 20 minutes. You have buttons for colours and sliders for speed, brightness etc

    So a DMX controller then

To be honest as long as you can switch the quadzilla on and off by some other means, this will do the job.

A DMX controller is completely different...

That controller isn't programmable. You press buttons and lights change colour.

And it controls them using the dmx protocol.
    Plug and play dmx control.

Either way that unit will probably suit, or the chauvet obey 3 or 4

    Sorry, but what complete .

The OP is asking for an easy solution as he isn't used to DMX and that is what I have suggested.

It might be using DMX protocol, but it isn't a traditional DMX controller, so I suggest you stop posting less than helpful comments, both of you.
