I have lost the dancfloor loads at the sight of any xmas track this year so have only played a few of the best.

pougues at the end always works though.

I stick it in as background and play a godd range of normal party stuff when it gets to the party.

there is lots of girly stuff in there which is key!
I think it would be more useful if a play list was posted BEFORE the gig--then at least the experienced DJs on here could be of help---

As they have many times before.

How would I know what I'm going to play before the gig?

After Xmas when you move into the Party and Wedding season you will get a thing called a play list---SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMER.

Look at it like the rest of us---then wonder how its going to work.

Some are better than others--its a subject of its own and could possibly be a Degree Subject in future.

I mean if you can get an academic qualification in Line Dancing why not?

Ideal qualification for DJs and Entertainers

as its your first gig I would have a 100% tried a tested playlist prepared and stick to that. All of my christmas functions I have done this as each event is very similar but with different people.

requests are a blessing and a curse.

People have funny ideas of tracks "that will get everyone dancing" (even thought they already are) and unless you have the working knowlege you will never know.
The one you played was good and as long as people wehttp://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=581283re dancing thats all you can do.

I generally do not plan many other events but rely on expirience and a good client track selection.

Despite the fact we are more experienced there was only one person there so I think we need to give more credit.

Most of the playlist looks good to me, only thing is Bieber and Glee are very marmite artists so need to be fairly sure thats the right way to go.

Also fancy remixes of known songs are something I try and avoid. People like to hear the version of the track they know. There are exceptions don't get me wrong.

The Pretenders wouldn't be the only exception though...
