Is the credit crunch affecting you: Not so much
Have bookings increased: Yes? - Started with nothing lol
Fee increased: Charge per-event rather than flat rate like I used to.
What have you learned: Money/business management
Best thing you have done this year: Started up again!
Worst thing you have done this year: Took far too long to do my website

Bad purchases: Swan Flight 10U Case with sliding laptop tray (can't extend the tray all the way out due to my front-cloth)

Is the credit crunch affecting you ?? Not that I have noticed.
Have bookings increased ?? About the same as last year which is good but the difference has been better priced work and more importantly (to me anyway), midweek and sunday gigs too.
Fee increased ?? Yes.
What have you learned ?? To look after Number 1 and not worry about what anyone else is doing. I've also learnt a couple of other things that aren't so good which I won't air on the forum but let's just say that looking after Number 1 and concentrating on myself rather than helping others with their work is something I will be doing more of.
Best thing you have done this year ?? I did many weddings this year and there was one particular one which stood out because it was just so laid back with the guests all up for it and dancing all night. Also, a Christmas Party this year was along the same lines.
Worst thing you have done this year ?? I haven't really had any bad gigs as such but a couple of disappointing ones where the potential was there for them to be excellent and they just didn't work out like that.
Good / bad purchases Good purchases - A couple of Martin Mania lights that were cheap from Mr Takeiteasy. The DJIO and DJ2Go aren't bad either. I haven't really spent a lot on gear this year. KAM LED192 Panels. I love these, very bright and I will be getting some more of them.
Bad purchases - Some speaker stands that I needed very quickly. £50.00 jobs that aren't that great and will more than likely either end up not being used of go out for hire work.

Overall I would say it's been a good year for me. My accounts are up on last year and I have been doing better quality work too. I have secured residencies that are giving me lots of work aswell.

Is the credit crunch affecting you ?? Yes - I am ticking over but could have been doing a lot lot better.
Have bookings increased ?? Not sure - turnover has though.
Fee increased ?? Yes, but a small amount
What have you learned ?? To be more flexible
Best thing you have done this year ?? Being more flexible in business and getting my gear to the point where I don't kill myself setting up. Everything apart from a sub is light and/or on wheels.
Worst thing you have done this year ?? It was really beyond my control, but losing all the Xmas bookings at a venue who are still recommending us to an AV company who signed a sales agreement in the middle of the year and didn't even let me tender for the work. Frustrating.
Good / bad purchases Good - Ipad, bad, er...a few frivolous things that I really didn't need..

Worst thing you have done this year ?? WELL SO FAR GETTING SNOW TYRES FOR MY CAR AND NO SNOW
Good / bad purchases. ALL MY LED CURTAINS HAVE BROUGHT MY DISCOS TO ANOTHER LEVEL AND CERTAINLY MADE MY MONEY BACK ON THEM EASY.. BAD THINGS I HAVE BROUGHT ARE MOST THINGS TO DO WITH KAM LEDS..

Have bookings increased: Steady flow of bookings like last year. Slightly fewer this year to last.
Fee increased: Yes, only by a little though.
What have you learned: Always agree a finishing time, even when working in a residency, as they tend to take advantage of our oh so frequent work there.
Best thing you have done this year: Started to advertise more work in the children's entertainment sector.
Worst thing you have done this year: Broken the electric socket on my trailer, took ages to repair
Good / bad purchases: Good: 2 x KAM par kit LED lights.
