I used to have it on a mic stand as they can be quite high, but now on my speaker as it has a mount.

Actually, quite a good looking mirrorball there, Toby, but I'm wondering if anyone would recommend lighting the ball with 2 pinspots instead of just 1?
Yes I have never done any videos before but thought "what the hell".
I think two are perfect at each end of the room at the right range depending on the size of your balls.

just caught up with this thread

sat night i did a 40s night (i will try to post photos )

i brought a 8" mirror ball and batt rotater 2 weeks ago

my friend knew i needed a mirror ball so dropped one round wed night (12" + mains rotater for me to borrow

i placed one each side of the speakers on t-bars

the 8" looked better more coverage but turned faster

the 12" did not fill the room and the rotater had no hole in it to put on clamp or nut and bolt

where are you going to place the ball ,a normal setup on here is a kam par bar
and star cloth booth (no offence intended)

if you want dots around the dance floor you can place a pinspot on the floor and use it as a uplighter straight up but will not light the top

you need to place pinspot about 2mts away from the ball for best coverage

I've made a "Toby special" with an Atlas bracket which is mounted on one my ultimax winch pod tripods so it'll get plenty of height. The mirrorball is a 12" one with a 2rpm motor.

It won't be used at every venue. At Mondays venue I'm planning on putting it to my right in a corner then adjusting to light to suit.

Will try and get some pics of it in action.

Oh, it's KAM Powerbar not Par bar.....big difference

I've only just read this. If anyone wants some PAR 36 pinspots to light a mirror ball, I've got some doing nothing.
