Where abouts is the pin spot mounted for that? And what do you use?

A handy thread, this one, as "this week, I've been mostly" looking at websites and catalogues for a mirrorball and pinspot to light it!!

    Toby? Videos? Whatever next!!!

Actually, quite a good looking mirrorball there, Toby, but I'm wondering if anyone would recommend lighting the ball with 2 pinspots instead of just 1? I noticed the ones that Haven uses in their entertainment rooms are lit by two pinspots and was just wondering what others thought.

Using two light sources appears to be a regular sight. I've even been in venuse with four, but in most cases, three of them don't strike the ball!

Depends on the placement of the ball. Chances are it's not feasible to have a bar coming out of your crossbar perpendicular to where the ball is hung, thus throwing all the beams from the ball forwards. Aiming 2 lights at it from the sides (better if you can use T bars either end of the crossbar to pull the lights in front of the ball, again throwing the beams forward out into the venue)

Obviously if the ball is a permanent fixture, it will tend to be in the middle of the room necessitating at least 2 light sources to fill the entire room

That would be entirely feasible with the el cheapo stands such as Maplins, where you are provided with two t-bars which sit on each end.

Discharge moving head. Will give an incredible look than the LED pin spots! If you have an iris in the head then you will be able to refine it better also.

I can see the sense in that. Bit more of an expensive option than a £30 pinspot, though!!
