    Default Which Headphones?

Apologies for the boring topic, and I did search the threads first. Am looking for a set of headphones, but find the choice and price variation a little bewildering.

They will be used for the most part at my indie night in a local club where I DJ from the stage.........and maybe a few mobile gigs.

Budget wise, I don't want rubbish but don't want to pay more than my playout costs either!!!!!!!

    Any recommendations appreciated.

I think I tried every kind of headphone on offer whilst at BPM. Out of them all one brand stood head and shoulders above the rest. Ariel7. Really loud, deep bass and crisp top end frequencies. That said, I've used Sennheiser HD 25's for years and they're my preference for gigging, but I know quite a lot of people refer to them as 'flimsy'.

I bought a pair of these last month though for using at home.

I switch between my Audio Technica ATH-M50's and some Sony MRD...something (model number rubbed off lol) - They're some in-ear kind.

The M50's go crazy loud without distortion, sound fantastic and block out tons of background noise. Comfy as hell too!

I like the Pioneer HDJ1000's...I love the 2000's...but they aint worth the money IMO, so I'll stick with the 1000's

I'm currently using Sony MDR-V700DJ which isn't ideal for mobile work.

It wont be long before I buy my 6/7th pair of sennheisers. I love 'em

I used to use the Sony MDR-V700s:

    Sony VDR700

but they recently died on me due to an accident with the lead. However, on my last visit to Disco World, I picked up a pair of these:

and, for the price, they're really quite loud. They're louder and clearer than I'd ever imagined and, imo, £19 very well spent.

+1 for the 1000's, Yes they're not the cheapest but then again not the most expensive.....Watch out for ebay fakes though

I had a pair of these before the 1000's and they too died but via the cup where it would go all the way around and not sit properly on my head.
