    Default Engagement Party

I was DJ' ing at an engagement party this last Saturday night.

All things considered it appeared to be going well, with the snow falling quite heavily at times, and the guests drinking even heavier . . . .

We came to the point of smashed glasses on the dancefloor, so I cooled the music down to allow it to be cleared up, which in my mind was the right thing to do.

However customer and guests had other ideas, they wanted music back on regardless of the glass on the dancefloor, and wanted lots of party style good flowing music from 80's and 90's

First point, was I right to make the decision to cool down the music for their own safety ?

And secondly, a list of good flowing tunes from 80's and 90's when you are less than sober ?

    Where do you start

IMHO the safety of the client , guests , staff and me are paramount , I think you did the right thing , if someone had injured themselves on the broken glass , rightly or wrongly you know where the finger of blame would be pointing.

Yep, particularly with girls so happy to dance bare footed at times so I would of done what you did.

    Thumbs up

    Hi

Many thanks to those that replied.

At least I know that something I did on the night sounds a good move with some of you more experienced guys on here.

I'm curious as to why this was posted in "Weddings & Formals" when it could easily happen at any event.

Thread moved. Please think about where you are posting when you start a thread. It's bad enough people posting questions in a section meant for reviews.

The section this was originally posted in sould only be for topics relating only to formal events.
