    Default Tunes of the night

Tonight's gig for 25 people average age 60ish. 4 got up & left before the background set finished, leaving me with 21.

    First a request

Then for some reason I decided to put this on (don't know why, it just popped into my head)

Both got around 15 /16 on the floor.

Mayhap Young Steve, you might like to consider the fact that the over fifties were familiar with a 10cc track from their late teens. The album was one of the most critically acclaimed of the time. ( Mind you, it's a track I'd never have considered nowadays in a million years )

Sometimes, I think that folk forget that, despite appearances, the over fifties were once teenagers.
Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.

I see what you're saying & I probably wouldn't have posted other than the fact I did a near identical gig the previous night in the same venue & the only things the core of them danced to (before they buggered off early because of the weather, leaving me with a grand total of 4 punters (although this did give me the best part of an hour & a half with 100% guests on the dancefloor)) was ABBA, the Nolans & some easy listening stuff.

As stated KISS was a request & this lot really looked like they ought to be at a tea dance rather than a rock gig & I really don't know what inspired me to play 10cc.

Mind you, how old are Gene, Paul, Ace & Peter these days? (Just looked, the youngest is 60)

Well, to be fair, God gave Rock N Roll to them, so the song says. And the oldies are closer to God than a lot of us!!
