It better not - I fully expect you to post your ship's log every night for our entertainment.

Now as part of your preparation you need to go and watch Carry On Cruising.

Canada and the Med could offer some really interesting stuff too...do you know the exact itinerary?

Sounds like a fantastic experience for someone of your age. 2 months will absolutely fly by, but offer you invaluable experience to determine if this is the way to go or not, plus...you can't really be anywhere but at home for Christmas, as far as I'm concerned!

Win wins, from my minimal perspective!

So the Canada run includes a stop in NYC!? awwww, that sounds amazing. I love New York, got married there, and New England, NYC area in the Autumn is truly beautiful.

Add to that stopping at places like Cadiz, Istanbul, Boston, Athens etc.

What an experience. If I didn't have the wife, kids, mortgage and full time job I'd be all over that!

A two-month stint would give you the opportunity to try it out without having to be away for a very long time, Charlie. Sounds perfect!

If you took the 6-month stint and hated it after a week, you'd feel terrible, but with a shorter cruise, you could just grin and bear it knowing that you'd be getting to see all these great places and be home in the not too distant future.

The Novotel is quite good, close to the docks, you can see/hear/smell the ships

    Stayed there several times.

Is your passport still in date and do you know where it is?
