Hire Booking system
This is a question for people who dry hire equipment.
Do you use a computer system? If so which?
Does DJ intelligence cater for this type of thing?
I need a system that can ideally be disco and hire friendly
Anyone reccomend anything?

I use Rental Desk becuase it's the only thing I could find that cost under 4 figures to buy! (Around £250 if I remember correctly)
It is quite buggy and there's a bit of a learning curve before it finally "clicks" and you find youself wizzing around it. It also does also take some time to setup all your reports to look nice, but the user forums are really good for picking up tips and if you buy the support package (£100ish a year) then you can get more help from the developers
I can honestly say I couldn't run my busniess without it now though, as it's made such a different to organisation and efficiency.
Easyjob also looks really good and does all the things I wish RentalDesk did (sync with phones/calendars being the main thing) but it's much more expensive.

I would recommend Rental Desk too...
I have a few clients who use it.
One issue I have found with it... the developers charge a whack load for "backing up" the database and restoring.
However after playing with it for a while, it's actually very very easy to do it yourself, but as Danno said there is a learning curve to it!

Cheers guys, have just downloaded the demo version to see what its like

Easyjob is fantastic and recomended although does cost quite a lot. As with most of the packages it does take alot to setup and get your head around but it does everything you could ever want in a hire package and more!

I use dj event planner as I only do a couple of Hires a week.I find it runs my DJ and Hire work fine

Yep I would agree, DJEP, DeckBooks and DJ Intelligence should all run this quite easily.
As they are not hire-specific packages what you'll probably have to do is create a "package" called say "Hire Package" and give it a price then add on what people are hiring as "Add-Ons". Then just create a standard hire document agreement template with your t&c's on it.
Should be fine.

Rental Desk for us, it's changed the way that we work, as Dan says, it's great!!!

Yeah we just add "wedding disco' or 'disco' etc in the stock list and add a price next to it!
