Yes. I'm sure most people who have been doing this for any length of time will have had something go wrong at some point - which is why it's important to carry back up for the major bits (the bits that could stop the disco if they went wrong)

If one of your lights goes out half way through the evening, it's not going to end the night on the spot, but if the amp goes.............

Definitely start saving up to get yourself some back up kit. Forget the lights for now and concentrate on the sound..... not forgetting spare leads, of course

It's unlikely that BOTH speakers would go at the same time, and there would still be sound if one went, so definitely the amp should be your priority.

Do you think I should just look around eBay at amps and get a used one In good condition? Is the amp more lightly to blow than the speakers are?

Or place a wanted ad here on the forums 'Wanted' section. You may find someone selling an old surplus to requirement amp.

I hear of speakers blowing more often than amps, but amps do blow too. A spare amp would be my main priority! Both speakers and amp failures are commonly due to poorly matched amps and speakers. And over-driving them.

Do you have a link to your speakers? Is the 1400 watt RMS or max sound?. Once we know exactly what speakers you have our more technically minded members will be in a better position to advise which apm will match your speakers.
