    Default Time to kill...

I've just had a conversation with a client for a wedding in September, and wonder if you guys could offer some advice? They've got a couple of hours to kill between the end of the wedding breakfast and the evening reception, but are in a private country house rather than a hotel - so there's nowhere for them to go to entertain themselves. The clients are looking for suggestions as to what they could do for a couple of hours. I've already suggested casino tables, a quiz and outdoor games (boules, giant chess, jenga etc.), but they're not keen on any of those ideas. Thoughts?

Hand out free disco name branded condoms, they'll get the hint

Seriously though, I suspect that what looks like 2 hours spare on paper won't turn out to be 2 hours spare at all; less than an hour, I'd suspect, and after hours of sitting down, people will probably enjoy the opportunity to stretch their legs, chat, visit the loo, the bar, the grounds(depending on weather) etc - and not forgetting the wedding guests favourite pastime ever... Standing, chatting in the only doorway available between the disco vehicle and the function room.

If they really want something to fill what I'd really call a "buffer" period (the period where all the time lost by over-runs throughout the day, can be resolved, meaning that the disco can start on time), then I'd suggest...

    1) signing the guest book - (to background music)
    2) sell your (new) service of copying all the digital photos from all the wedding guests into a Slideshow for the evening running on a big screen.
    3) photo booth / video journal wishes to cam corder
    4) if all else fails - dont all brides love a bouncy castle ?

Thanks, Paul. I'd already suggested a table magician - mights suggest a stage show type thing instead. I worked a couple of times with comedians ( ) last year and they always went down well.

They weren't keen on planning anything that relied on the weather....I do like the helicopter rides idea, though. I'll pass that one on.

    Cheers guys!

Not sure whether this idea can compete with those already said but it's something I have done once so far and I will continue to push it....

In reality, a Race Night / Day.
