Default RCF ART 525's to EV ZXa5's

    Hi Guys

I am thinking about selling my RCF ART 525's and going for a set of EV ZXa5's.

Have any of you used the EV's and if so whats your thoughts on them.

I hope i have posted this in the correct area!

    Thanks

    Iain

I listened to the Live x range recently and was impressed with them!

With the live x series there ok, I don't really like the 15inch (it sounds muffled) but the 12inch sounds fantastic however the box is not very well built, in fact when I went to hear them the box was smashed up after one gig apparently.

The zxa5 sound fantastic, the reason I didn't go for the zxa5 is because they do not have a set off light weight bass bins to go with them and if your going to use bass bins you would need the qtx double bass bins x2 and there not active (or something similar, RCF bass bins will not do anything to them and there fantastic )!

I myself was looking for speakers for ages and decided I love active speakers and after great thought and listing to all the major brands the qsc kw122 and a kw181 is perfect but there is a problem with them there not 1000 watt there about 500 / 600 watt and in my opion the zxa5 are overpriced! Either stick with the RCF speakers which I don't like or go with qsc.

PS: HK are also very good IMO!

still looking at what to do. currently have a 525 away for repair!!
QSC is a brand i like and have used in the form of there 3002plx amps. they work well and have never given me any problems.
i mite try and get along to have another listen to the QSC range.
I agree with you, the EV's are overpriced.
thanks for your input and thoughts on this guys.

I have a pair of active K12's and love them. I have always used RCf but decided on a change and now will always use QSC speakers.

I also like the input options - makes them very versatile.
