Thanks all of you for the warm welcome.
The Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraiser last night went well. I did mainly background music around everything until my set which ran between 10 and 11pm. A gentleman called Peter Quest from Darlington Daily compered the evening, there was line dancing, raffle, stand up bingo and pie n peas supper. The guest artist was Henry Fawcett from Middlesborough, reall enjoyed him. He sang and played guitar well and was accompanied by a guy on a keyboard who also was very good. He did Buddy Holly, Jim Reaves, 50's n 60's stuff and then he got on the banjo and did a few Lonnie Donnegan and George Formby songs. He used the Bose L1 system. Very minimal and smart. There was 170 people there and it sounded very crisp. He had a lady join him for a couple of country songs and he seemed to have to turn her mic up a lot higher than his and it did feed back a lot though. He set up on the floor in front of my disco. All in all it was a good night and let's up they raised a good bit of money. Mostly older people there but few younger ones, anyway here's what I played.
    Dancing Queen
    I Don't Feel Like Dancing
    Moves Like Jagger
    We Found Love
    I Think We're Alone Now
    The Twist
    Feels Like I'm In Love
    Domino
    Dance With Me Tonight
    Sweet Soul Music
    Needle in a Haystack
    Always Have, Always Will
    Valerie
    A Little Respect
    Suspicious Minds
    Human
    Sweet Caroline
    Greatest Day/Rule The World
    I Can See Clearly Now
(while I stripped down I played Where Do You Go To My Lovely, Side by Side, Walkin My Baby Back Home, Show Me The Way To Go Home)

I don't know how Olly Murs appeared again at the bottom there, maybe that was on in the car going home!?

    Don't worry about it!

Brilliant playlist! Did you play it in that order?

Yes, I played it in that order. I swapped it around a lot as the crowd were mostly older. I had a few more chart ones in originally. I only had an hour so I took out others I had Queen, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Journey. I also took out Town Called Malice and Baggy Trousers. I'd worked originally on 90 mins.
