It's not meant to be connected to a PAL TV (it's not a composite output). The cable splits the video signal into Red, Green and Blue and the TV will need to be able to handle this (which most can't).

Gotcha!! Actually, my tv has those inputs. Never knew what they were for!

Got one of the cheaper converter boxes, bit of an issue with a faulty vga lead but changed that and happy days.
