    Default Lighting controllers

    Hi all

this post will only appeal to some but I am wondering what many of you use to control your lighting fixtures.
I come more from the pro end where I have used Avolites, Zero88, Hogs, Strand etc. As much as I would love to take a avo pearl with me its abit big. I have thought about the pc based route like chamsys magicQ pc but dont really want to splash out on one of there wings. I did look at the Avo titan mobile but at around £2000 not sure

How many of you use stuff like freestyler etc and what are they like.

    thanks

I use freestyler, its free and you can get a usb - dmx for around £50 on ebay. Takes a while to get your head around all the functions, but once you've cracked it its easy.

If your fixture is not included, you have to create it yourself. Can be complicated but i've managed it and made fixtures files for others on here too.

I only really use it myself for LED Pars, Moving Heads and Magic Gobos but you should be able to program in any dmx fixture.

    I recommend it.

I use American DJ MyDMX2.0 the software is free but the controller cost arround £180 bit more expensive than freestyler but packed with features and dead easy to use, although TBF I do have a degree in computer science.
