Default Anyone else bored of the olympic build up?

Im really looking forward to watching some of the sport during the olypmics, but im really fed up with all the build up.

For weeks most of the news has revolved around it. I put the bbc news channel on at 9am today, hoping to get 'the news', 25 minutes later ive heard nothing but olympics.

Glad im working tonight, so i dont have to sit through the opening ceromony

Desperately so! It's one of the few sporting events I have absolutely no interest in.

    Can't wait till its finished.
Suppose we are quite lucky in that we are not really involved as such up here, must be a nightmare in London where everything is centred on.

Actually quite enjoying it- went down to pretty much the end of our road today to see it go past on the Thames- all pretty cool.
Suspect the sport may be a bit of an anticlimax after the Torch Relay but we will wait and see.

Tomorrow- heading to Reading tomorrow so will see what it's like- Sunday will prob wander down and see the cycling given that it goes within 10 mins walk of our house.
More concerned about driving to work on Monday to be honest...

By all accounts the opening ceremony is very good and well worth watching.
As for the sport side of it there seems to be something for everyone - i for one didn't realize how varied the Olympics is beyond the usual bits to see not he tv coverage.
was dreading it but kind of looking forward to it in a way - i live a 10m cycle ride to box hill so will be there to see that if i get back form this tour in time!

The opening ceremony is going to be awesome. I saw it on Wednesday night and was blown away. Would love to upload some pictures I took but be sworn to secrecy!

I was getting bored with it as I've been on the site since January 2011 but now it's here, it's really exciting.

Well it would get plenty coverage as it's quite a big event Agreed though, the media do tend to over do it a little bit.

I'm quite looking forward to it tbh
