I've just joined the ranks of the Equinox Screen users. I'm now working on getting some different colour lycra scrims including some fancy ones for the kids parties (it's handy having a mother in law who is a seamstress) and working out which of my lighting fixtures works best behind it. Pars for now I reckon...

I am still trying to get over how tall it is too, but that is exactly what I wanted to hide all of my kit. I get the feeling I might dispense with the screens for the kids discos as I don't like having barriers between me and the kids. Well, at most of the disco's anyway - at some of them it'd be beneficial!!

P.S. Unbelievable service from Simply Sound on eBay. Ordered 2:57pm yesterday, received by my son this morning before anyone else in the house even got up!!!

If anyone is struggling to get an even wash without hotspots, the outdoor type LED floodlights work very well as they have a very wide beam angle. Just use a colour gel of your choice.

Agree regarding the Kids Party thing...I only do the one regular Kids party venue, but yes, the Screen is a little high and I've found that kids at Weddings LOVE pushing their faces up against the lycra, grabbing it etc...much to my frustration.

and if you use it where people can smoke you'll really notice how cigarettes come near to burning a hole in the lycra.

    Hi Julian,
Glad you got the booth sorted.
SimplySounds are a good company - delt with the return of a faulty item really well.
They're prices are good on eBay and accept offers.

I've just received mine, and I'm a little disappointed. I've got some LED par cans on the floor (Kam Partybar), and although the effect is good... you can clearly see the actual LEDs though the lycra. This photo doesn't quite get the point across because my camera blurs the light a bit, but even here you can see how sharp it it looks. I considered splashing out on a Megabar, and perhaps that would work a bit better, being flush to the stand.

I must admit that I had this thought process too, as the stand does seem a little expensive. However, it is a very well made, quality product and is worth the money!

That does look very good! But that would be a static light, and I suspect most are looking for at least a colour fade.
