    !
It has to be installed to your Windows Font folder

    c:\windows\fonts (just copy and paste)

You may need to reboot your machine to get Word to pick up the font..

Usually you just have to restart Word.

Depends on what version of windows you're running. Go to "help" and type in "add font".

I know I'm a bit late but for anyone else needing to do this:

MS Word (and the vast majority of other software) will load it's fonts in to memory when you run the application so there is no need to reboot the whole system. In Win7, the folder is simply C:\Windows\Fonts (I actually think it's the same for all versions of windows but am not 100% sure). Some fonts come as an installer package that will unpack the various font styles (ie plain, bold, italic, etc) in to the correct folder. This are autoexec files and just need double-left-clicked on their icon to install them. It couldn't be simpler.

Actually, thinking about it, it depends on what type of font it is. If it's a plain, straightforward font, you can copy it in to the fonts folder as above. However, if I remember correctly, then TrueType (TT) fonts require proper and correct installation. See this link from MS on how to do this:
