Default North East NADJ November Meeting

North East NADJ meeting – Tuesday 13th November 2012, Again, this is held at Darlington Football and Rugby Club, Blackwell Meadows, Grange Road, Darlington, DL1 5NR, Please arrive at 7.00pm for 7.30pm start (PROMPT)

    Agenda as promised :

Paul Ferry will be emptying his industrial unit and bringing the contents along to the meeting. In store for demonstration, we have :
    Skytrackers
    Dance Mats
    Video DJ Demonstration
New Dancefloor – no, NOT the LED one previously on display !!

Our excellent supporting retailer Mike at Phase One will also be along with some of the latest releases, Mike never fails to come up trumps (I hope Alan has asked Mike before I have published this LOL)

Blog TV – bit of a laugh but we will be demonstrating Blog TV and if all goes well will broadcast the whole meeting over t’interweb.

Bring and Buy table – now Alan has retired there will be plenty of room !!!!

    Raffle and Buffet

20 second tip – following the success of this last month we are making this a monthly feature – simply come prepared with a quick tip and near the end of the evening we will be going round all attendees to ask for their 20 second tip. This proved a very useful feature so please come prepared with a beneficial tip.

Whilst I agree most of the products may not be something you would think about purchasing, this is an ideal time to see the products on display with the potential to increase your portfolio of services offered.

After great thought and feedback from members we are keeping the entry fee of £2.50. This will include a free raffle ticket, buffet and of course a great meeting and networking opportunities. Further raffle tickets will be available and it is something we are closely monitoring. We are also adopting our approach of having one meeting educational based, one equipment, education, equipment etc etc. to hopefully reach out further to DJ’s out there as we have found it difficult to do cover both areas in one meeting.

Hope to see you there !!

Another great meeting for the North East NADJ branch.

This time it was the turn of some kit demonstrations, but we like to do things a bit different in the North East. We didn’t have wall to wall speakers and lighting on display but some equipment that most attendees would never dream of purchasing but now know where to go to hire this equipment and thus easily enhance their portfolio of services.
Paul Ferry from Ultrasound discos demonstrated :

A very cost conscious Black and White dancefloor which is available to purchase from Phase One or hire from Paul himself. It was a budget floor which still looked great and certainly has a place in the market.

Next up we had skytrackers on display. Thankfully no Boeing 747’s were passing by but the light was visible for miles around.

Back inside and over to Mike from Phase one next with his top 5 products of the moment. All the products chosen by Mike were easily affordable by most DJ’s so not just for dreamers. These included a PA speaker, Laser, Microphones, Led Light (without dots) and to make up the 5 he promoted the Black and White dancefloor which he is selling and has instore.

After the sumptuous buffet we went round the Bring and Buy tables and then back over to Paul for:

Video DJ demonstration including how to make very cost effective projector screens,

And finally a chance for attendees to make a fool of themselves once again with a game on the Dance Mats, which personally I thought were more popular than my initial thoughts – certainly a great add-on to any wedding or party.

Raffle prizes were again donated by Mike at Phase One, with a very special prize donated by Alan Rees which Paul won, and was quite apt that he did so (no doubt will reappear at out next meeting).
