    Default Limbo Pole

    Hi,

Noticed these at the BPM show and was wondering if anyone had purchased one?

at £90 a pop with bag it seems quite expensive.

Other than build one out of PVC pipe does anyone else have any suggestions for alternatives or are these the "bees knees" in limbo poles?

I bought a wooden version a while, cost about £20 - it's stable enough on it's wooden X piece stands, and the uprights split in two for easy packing. Unless you're planning to use it a lot I don't see why you'd need a more expensive version (though if the one you show was around £45 I'd have probably gone for it.)

Thanks for the reply - I thought £90 was a tad steep, but if it's built rock solid and will last then I guess it's "worth it".

    £20? £20 £20

Two brush handles, pack of screws, garden cane, and two MDF offcuts for the bases. +£4.50 tops, including labour. Simples.

search the forum for limbo and go to page 2. There you'll see a thread started by me which shows a very easy to make limbo pole that weighs and costs next to nothing.

Ironically I did exactly the same as you. I used sticky back plastic to decorate the pole and spray painted the uprights and bases bright red. It's been in service for 5yrs now and is yet to need any repair, unlike the wooden £20.00 ones I used to hire out to people which usually lasted less than an hour!

I've got one and I know two other guys who've bought them.

Totally different class to the wooden thing I used to use. Packs down small, sets up in seconds, very stable, packs away even quicker, BRILLIANT.

Brian, they weren't at the show, there was a flyer in the bag everyone was offered when they got their wristband.

    Cheers peeps

Brian, sorry I can't help you as to the location of the poles, for I didn't see them myself. May I urge you to pop across to the Newbies section to introduce yourself, it's painless ( unless you get a finger trapped in the keyboard or something )and often helps us to offer advice to folk. Thank you.
