    Looks like I can make it this year.
    I will bring my rig minus the lights , no need for them , budget amps (Behringer EPQ2000 and W-Audio Horizon 1300 , with citronic crossover )and DIY speakers (tops and subs), and ultramixer 4 software, so you can have a play...
    Looking forward to it.

    Ive actually had a speaker cabinet catch fire. It was a pair of speakers that I borrowed and the post mortem revealed the cause.

    The terminal strip on the speaker was rivited to a cast aluminium tag on the chassis. The tag had cracked at some time in the past and left the terminal strip hanging from the cone by the spider wires. Eventually these broke and the terminal block fell to the bottom of the cabinet, shorted out and set fire to the acoustic wadding in the cabinet. I ran to the bar for a fire extinguisher and this is how the conversation went.....

    Keith : "David, give me the fire extinguisher"
    David : "What for?"
    Keith : "The speakers on fire!"
    David : "Yes mate, of course it is"
    Keith : "Give me the fire extinguisher!!"
    David : "Yeah right"
    Keith : "GIVE ME THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER"

    ....at that point he saw the smoke issuing from the cabinet and relented !!!!

    You're already halfway there. James has a facebook page for entrants, so that would be one way to sign up. If the lad looks on here before February, he should see your post. Chuck the kit into the horseless carriage on the appointed day, find the venue, set it up and enjoy the fun. ( Bring long cables though, cos the amps and playout aren't always near the Cabs. )See you there.

I'll be the one with the second biggest pile of cabs, cos it looks like The Marmite Kid will be bringing a large pile of his rapidly growing collection of previously enjoyed large boxes, and a ladder.     Just thought i'd update this thread after the recent down time.... I will be in contact with all those that have expressed an interest in showing their audio systems in January but i can confirm This is 100% happening and the confirmation paperwork from the chanwood arms is sat on my desk!

    For those wanting to stay over we are able to get the room rate of £45 for the Saturday Night (9th Feb 2013) for those looking to get there the night before and £35 for the Sunday Night (10th Feb 2013).
