Default Coalville Meetup 2013 - Free entry, Free to take part, Great to socialise :)

    Coalville Show - Sunday 10th February 2013
    Midday - 5pm

Followed by Food & and Night Out for those interested
A chance to network, Relax, have a beer or 2, view some products, listen to some speakers, sell some kit and get help

FREE ENTRY AND FREE TO TAKE PART
Thanks to the sponsorship of the room by Advanced Event Designs - Design & Distribution of the Deckstand Booth and Dexstand range of stands, UKstarcloths.com and Venue Magic Show Control Software

Right well as it's coming to that time of year again and it's become a bit of a tradition these last few years and people have started to ask and think about it i thought i'd get the ball rolling on this so that everyone has a bit of notice.

So here's the info to get the ball rolling on the kinda annual, sometimes in Feb meeting at Coalville, Leicester.

As with previous years we'll be looking to get people to bring along their own sound system you use every week to let people hear what it sounds like, BUT that's not to say you can't bring your full disco rig for people to look at and give advice. We'll also have a bit of a second hand table to sell anything you no longer need, there's the bar and restaurant for people to get food and drink, we'll be displaying the Deckstand Booth and Dexstand range of stands as well as Venue Magic Show Control and a range of white and tri-colour starcloths from UKstarcloths.com and i'm sure other things will be added as the date gets nearer.

    This is ideal, if

    1) You plan on changing your speakers in the not too distant future
    2) You can hear whether you really need to invest in your system or not - You might be surprised at how some time the 'smaller' or 'cheaper' systems compare to some of the bigger boys.
    3) You just fancy a sunday out with like minded people, having an informal look at some DJ kit and fancy a beer and a bit of networking...

THIS IS NOT A WILLY WAVING CONTEST - IT NEVER HAS BEEN. It is not about who goes the loudest the most boxes etc It's about people socializing with fellow people in the same industry listening to some sound systems in as near to a real life situation as you can and recovering after the Christmas madness!

It's all in one room - Ground floor easy access and you can even arrange a stay over as they have rooms on site, (currently negotiating a discount on rooms so dont book just yet!) - If the previous years are anything to go by staying over is fantastic as everyone meets in the restaurant for some food in the evening before jumping in a taxi and heading for a night out..

    10th February 2013

    Meeting at

    Charnwood Arms
    Beveridge Lane,
    Bardon Hill
    Coalville
    Leicestershire
    LE67 1TB
    http://www.goodnightinns.co.uk/book-...harnwood-arms/

If you do searches for coalville or speaker meets on this forum, you'll should find loads of comments, threads about what a good day it has been. It's great for a social, it's great for demoing speakers, it's just great so get dates booked, and come on down always a good time.....

SO WHO IS INTERESTED IN COMING? BRINGING THEY SOUND SYSTEM OR INTERESTED IN BRINGING THEIR RIG? AND ALL THE REST OF IT

So true. Of all the flash kit demoed last year, I liked the two W-audio cabs best of all.

Aw James, you had to go and bring me back to sanity and reality. If you've never been, you've missed a great day. A great day, with absolutely no agenda, just a desire and opportunity to listen to and compare some rigs you may not see on a regular basis ( particularly the Heinz 57 one I'm currently building. )

That would be because it really is a great day. I honestly can't recommend it highly enough.

Me Sir, me, me. After last year, I vowed I'd bring a system along this year.

PS, James. How high is the ceiling in the room? I don't want the full effect compromised by having to leave the three top boxes off each side cos the ceiling's a bit on the low side.

Thanks for the support couldn't have summed it up better To be fair it's a get together that's been organised for a few years now via another forum - usually around feb - Advanced Event Designs stepped in last year after a shortfall in the room sponsorship so the event still went ahead and over the past few weeks a few people have been asking if it's going ahead again this year - so after a brief chat in the office with Graham we thought we'd start the ball rolling and get things in place earlier this year.

Room height i'm not sure but i can find out if you want me too Do i need to do a risk assessment for your setup alone

Ooooooooh, what a thing to say! ( Quite possibly true though, I must concede ) Dave, just make sure your car's not behind my van when I start reversing it up to the doors to unload, eh?
