I received a complaint from an agent that gave me a gig the other day saying my dress wasn't suitable for a Christmas party at a Holiday Inn.
I would like to know what people think is unacceptable dress?

My minimum is a shirt and tie.
Unacceptable would be jeans(no matter what colour) and T-shirt, Untucked shirt, basically anything without a tie, Unless its a santa outfit. Saying that though, I have an xmas party on Saturday where I will be wearing untucked shirt and black jeans (client request)

What were you wearing?
For me,I think it would have been a suit and tie.
I would maybe suggest Santa outfit or an elf
A christmas pudding outfit may also be acceptable
I would steer clear of easter bunny outfits or halloween
should do the job
Don't think a tie is a must, smart shirt, black trousers is suitable. Jeans no, black polo shirt....maybe... but not what I wear.
I would say at the VERY least trousers, shoes and a formal black polo shirt. It might only be a Holiday Inn but people will have spent £30-50 a skull before drinks for their night out so you have to take that into account. Trainers, jeans, a t shirt or anything like that isn't appropriate.
Personally speaking I usually rock a full suit and tie. The suit jacket can come off if it's too warm and the tie can come off if it's a more casual event.
Better to be over dressed and you can do something about it.
For me.
Black shoes and trousers , red shirt , cream/black tie , white dinner jacket.
for my local club x-mas party on 24 Dec , Santa outfit....

Here you go
This time last year one of my now ex DJ's turned up at my venue in jeans, trainers & smart shirt to take some photos of the uplighting (without asking) for his website! He was working independently in the hotel next-door (this was a black tie function, just before everyone was being seated) so I asked him to leave and he has not done a gig for me since.
He was dressing like this ever week and it is unacceptable given the dress code of the event. Depends on the venue and guests IMO, but a level of smartness is a must! Clean clothes, shaven, good appearance and personal hygiene is everything.
