It's in the 'Chat' section Daryll, so don't worry about clogging up the forum!

One thing I will slap your wrists for though..... We're not in the US. We know how to spell over here (Theatre, as theater is American spelling )

PS Do it on the forum so that when others come across the same problem it might be helpful.

    OK then.

(Angela..................have a nice day you all........ ( said in an American accent ).
I have a LG HD ready TV with a singlr HDMI input.

    Name: lg tv.jpg

Size: 45.4 KB
It also has an optical out.
I have a standard Sky box , but I am upgrading to HD , I belive this has a HDMI output.
All seems straight forward so far................
Also I have a Blue ray plater with HDMI out.
So when I get Sky HD I will have two HDMI outs and only one in on the telly.
to add total confusion , I am planning to get a home surround system with AV amp , powered sub and DIY satellites ( there's that DIY word again..... )

Any recommendations , on a AV 5:1 amp and how to connect the whole lot up, I have seen a unit from Auna.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOME-CINEM...-/280985673346 , however at that price , I presume you get what you pay for , I also presume that DVD/Blueray/Sky HD plug into the Anua and a single HDMI out to the telly ?
    Even I am confused now...............

    Cheers

I would avoid the one on ebay.

Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer do decent Home Cinema stuff.

I have 2 Yamahas and am happy with them both.

Essentially you need one with multiple HDMI in and one HDMI out from what I can tell.

This looks to be a good deal-

But something like this has 3 inputs and would do the job for the same price as the ebay one-

    Hope this helps

    Thanks wensleydale
The Denon one looks a good bit of kit . and the name is good (I use denon x-500 and 4500 ) , the Brighton , or Southampton stores are closest to me , I will have a look.

Here is what I would do:

Sky HD into TV via HDMI
Sky HD into 5.1 Amp via Optical/HDMI/Digital Coax
Bluray into TV via Component (Make sure your player can do this) + Stereo L/R
Bluray into 5.1 Amp via HDMI or Optical
TV into 5.1 Amp via Stereo L/R out

The simple solution is to buy a semi decent 5.1 Amp with a built in HDMI switcher, most of the branded ones ie Sony, Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon et all will have this. Connect everything to the amp via HDMI and then the Amp to the TV via HDMI.

Which speakers do you have or intend to buy? You should probably go for something which provides the type of sound you like in conjunction with your speakers.

I'm currently using Denon and Monitor Audio and it provides a nice laid back sound in comparison to my previous setup which was Yamaha and B&W which was far too bright for my ears.

It's worth reading reviews as most of the above amps will do the job but you might not like how they sound.

Plan was to DIY on the speakers so I'm guessing he's taken that into account.
