Default slow jouney home last night...

Was out at Horncastle last night booked for a private party, and altho the journey up there was fun with some black ice in places coming home was a nighmare.

left horcastle at 1am - got home 32 miles later at 3.20am

could see the roads couldnt see - luckily for me was in me seat diesal instead of me transit - even with that as soon as i touched the peddle she was sliding

Not long been awake, so dont know what its like out there tonight, but if you are booked out be careful.

I'm sitting at home tonight, due to mine being cancelled yesterday, due to impending snow. Travelling's fine here at the moment, but if it freezes later, it will be a swine on the side roads.

Trailer and 4x4 means we don't really get stuck.

However, the kit was a mess in the back of the trailer on Saturday after Friday nights snowy trip home. Must have been all the deep ruts of snow bouncing it about everywhere.

Took me over 2 1/2 hours on a normally 45 minute journey on Friday night.

I was at my weekly residency in Goole and the landlord kindly let me finish earlier than normal (normally a 1:30am finish but he let me end at just after midnight).

Luckily I was at the same place the following night so just my laptop to take home.

After I'd brushed around 5 inches of snow off my car I set off carefully.
The roads were a nightmare and the fastest I got up to was 20mph, most of the journey was at around 15mph and Arris hill at Market Weighton was treacherous. I think my wheels were spinning all the way up (a good mile or so).

I saw one snow-plow all night (going in the opposite direction lol)

Boy, was I glad to get home...

Next day, glorious sunshine and most of snow had melted...
