I dont mind losing out on bookings. I'd rather do 60 events per year at double my old rate than 120 at half the price. Work smarter not harder

That's pretty much what we'd all like to do......but the question is.....are you?
No matter how much you raise your game, how long and hard you listen to experienced talking heads or how expensive your new kit is, there is a finite element that is overlooked. The customer's budget. And like it or not, the fact is that more people than ever are looking for cheaper deals. Therefore, receiving 'advice' at a conference to put your prices up (from a man who owns an online DJ store) when he knows very little about your area and the competition therein, is not good advice. Stabilise your prices, offer discounts and ride out this economic downturn as best you can. The good times will be back...and hopefully sooner than we think.

This is all very well and I have read all the positive comments about it, but no-where have I read what people actually got out of it to help and improve their businesses.

Disco Dude!
I'd love to go to these things but having seen the content that is put out on social media and having been to a "lets get all american" workshop I have to say I've yet to see anyone put forward some hard evidence that this has worked......

Facts to back up my statements? Yes of course. Twenty five years in the mobile DJ and corporate music industry. This past twelve months have seen a huge increase in customers budgeting more than ever before, at both the top and bottom end of the scale. If it's not happening to you, then you are either very very lucky or in denial.

Well said. I guess we'll now see the delegates who attended wearing an 'I was there' badge....

I will list out everything below about what I learnt for all the people who were cynical, could
not stump up one gigs funds or were not interested in making the effort to attend.
NOT.
It's suffice to say that every attendee came out of that with many ideas but I doubt they will want to share them.
I have been to loads of these things and this was the most useful.
