Default Something a little different this weekend

I've got a Wedding locally this Saturday and as the couple are both in the forces I only got to meet them for the first time yesterday.

We chatted through song choices etc and they said they'd planned some games during the evening and could I introduce them for them. No worries as it's nice to come out of the box occasionally. Here's my timeline for the night.......Looking forward to it

    19:30-Announce First Dance

    20:00 - Announce Hog Roast

    20:30 - Guess Who

    Part One:

    • DJ Call for Bride and 4 other females
    • Bridesmaids to line up 5 chairs and seat volunteers
    • Groom is to be blind folded
    • Groom must guess his new wife by only feeling the legs!

    Part Two:

    • DJ call for Groom and 4 other males to be seated
    • Bride to be blind folded
    • Bride to guess groom by feeling biceps!

    21:30 - Musical Chairs (with a twist)

    • DJ call for Best man and grooms man to set up 6 chairs
    • Need 7 volunteers (preferably mix of male & female)

When music stops, before they sit down they must grab:
    • Grab a name tag
    • Grab a shoe from the opposite sex
    • Grab one drink
    • Grab a tie from someone else
    • Grab an earring
    • Grab a condom

    21:45 - Parents Dance

    • Bride & Groom to introduce (song = Stand by Me - Ben E King)

22:00 - Announce Cutting of the Cake

    22:30 - Bride & Groom play games

    • Best Man and Chief Bridesmaid to introduce

23:30 - Bride & Groom throw bouquet & button hole

    • Bride throw first
    • All single ladies called to dance floor first, then men
    • whoever catches each will dance with each other (Taylor Swift - Love Story) At the meeting yesterday we'd decided on Another Level "Freak me" but they seem to have changed their mind

    00:25 - Last Song - Semisonic - Closing Time

Needless to say they've said no photos to go Facebook

Sounds like quite a fun night ahead. I just hope they appreciate how timings in weddings can go completely out of the window due to dinner over runs and so on so things might need changed on the fly.

That sounds like some good fun, now if only all weddings could be more like this.

That one's easy. The Bride is the one who doesn't scream when he gets to the top......

Sounds like a lot of fun - where are you going to fit in the music?

Well, Saturday has been and gone and indeed it was a good night!

Timings actually started off early with the first dance going down at 7.15pm but then most things slipped slightly with them enjoying a good dance. Put some interesting music in the games. Musical chairs had the Benny Hill theme, the Groom feeling the legs I played "Freak me" & for the Bride doing the biceps it was a Macho man

The late on game the bride & groom did was a traditional Polish Wedding thing (Bride was half Polish) where the groom had a key on a piece of ribbon held in one hand while the ribbon was wrapped around his back through his legs etc to his other hand. The bride had to move the key from the one hand to the other by just using her mouth! Needless to say the musical choice from me was Boombastic

It was nice to do something a bit different for a change.

I like the choice of tracks for the games, very clever.
