Ma Baker -
Boney M
That's all I can do for now, without searching. I'd have a listen on Spotify to what I suggested ( apart from Paper Lace, obviously
) and there may easily be some more inspiration there. I've purposely kept away from Gangsta type stuff.
Edit: Must type faster.
I'd never heard of Gangster of Love by Steve Miller but that title is also a lyric contained in the Steve Miller Band track The Joker. With a little bit of Googling, I've found out that, for future reference, both tracks are not to be confused with each other!!!

Just an observation as it's a 21st.
Do they mean gangster as in fedoras, toothpicks and pin striped suits or
GANGSTA!!! as in jeans hanging down to your ankles, a tenuous grip on the Queen's English and ridiclous jewellery?
You don't want to be cracking out Mack the Knife when they're expecting some grimey dubstep.

If I'm honest, I had to check before posting. I actually had a feeling that it was an album title, rather than a track in its own right. The reason there's a version by Mr Watson is that the credits say they co-wrote it. A day without learning is a day wasted.

The theme is supposed to be Ganster as opposed to Gangsta, however I am sure it will be interpreted in a number of ways given the age bracket!
Stuff to cover each interpretation would be a safe bet
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Can't believe I didn't initially think of Ma Baker. Any excuse to get that one out of the box!

Hey Pachucho - Royal Crown Revue (the Mask soundtrack)
The Godfather theme
