    Default 24bit / 192kHz (Studio Masters)

Just curious to hear a 24bit/192kHz (studio master recording) through my system.

I downloaded the flac test files from linn but they don't play through VDJ.

Has anyone been able to play 24bit files?

I just want to be ready for when http://www.hdtracks.com/ becomes available in the UK.
There are also a few good tracks from Linn to play at the moment: http://www.linnrecords.com/linn-downloadtop10.aspx

I have tried playing the 192kHz flac files through a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol1 24bit 192kHz Dual Stereo Soundcard
and the 96kHz flac files through an Echo Indigo DJ (24bit 96kHz Dual Stereo soundcard/

To be honest a) I don't have any hardware that supports playback of this kind of sampling rate/resolution and b) I've never tried anyway

I wonder what it would do to VirtualDJ if it had to time stretch files with this level of definition - or even if it can play them back? VirtualDJ forums might be your best bet?

I can't see how this will make much difference to us to be honest.

Customers even now can't tell any difference between WAV, WMA, MP3 etc and lets be honest, probably don't even care, as long as it sounds half decent so can't really see the need for "HD" Quality music in the future.

Unless you have a very high end system I suppose, which Lee doesn't, so I don't really know why he makes so much fuss over it!

Even then major concerts don't really use that kind of sample rate! They have systems worth millions near enough. Recording studios use that sample rate so you have a lot to worth with and as you sample down to CD your dont loose all too much quality. These rates are for the Audiophools thats all. The ones who you can sell snake oil too.
