Oh, no! Not another Facebook "Likes" thread!...

I've decided to resurrect my Facebook business page due to being told that I was missing a trick.

The page is very, very basic as I've not put in much time with it (yet - very soon to be put right!). But, as I've liked a good few pages for others on here I thought I'd chance my luck and ask for some "likes" myself. Of course, if you have a page that I haven't already liked I'll be more than happy to reciprocate.

Now, I thought you needed so many likes before you could secure your page name but I've already done this with 1 like - from me!! Is this normal or has Facebook changed their policy? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Actually, your page has what mine is lacking - some quality photos. I've been DJing all these years and never really taken any decent photos at gigs. #epicfail

I personally am unsure of the benefits of social media to our businesses but have recently decided it's worth a crack at least! I know one DJ that uses it loads and gets lots of comments and that does look good.

As for the benefits of social media, I was given some stats from a local business forum a while ago which pretty much showed you're missing out if you're not connecting with your potential customers in this way. Problem was I did sod all about it at the time! . Now, I've decided to go for it and this ties in nicely with the Ladies Charity Night in aid of The Children's Cancer Fund (based at Newcastle Hospital or the RVI or are they both the same??? ) that I'm donating my time for in a couple of weeks time.
