    Default Northern Soul suggestions

Got a wedding in a few weeks where the bride and groom want Northern Soul played as background music during the meal.

It's not my forte and after asking them several times to give me an idea of what artists or songs they would like and hearing nothing back, I'm basically at square one.

Anyone got any good compilations I could get a hold of to cover my bases?

The forum search facility is a handy tool

At the risk of repeating myself Jim, I'd go for this every time as the starting point. Forty tracks, and nearly all of them mainstream.
Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.

    Volume 2 is also superb.

Cheers for the input guys. I've only just noticed the wee search bar there or I'd have used that.

That's the ones I use, there are two volumes, each double CDs. Also, Mastermix Classic Cuts Northern Soul (can't remember the two disc numbers though).
