    Default How many lights?

No no advice required, just a question.

You're working in a room around 8-10 ft wide by 20ish ft long. How many lights would you use?

Agreed. Quality not quantity. With one controlled Wizard, you can do exactly what you want.

Two EFX 600s or if I was to buy equipment to suit more than likely go with one of the parbar products.

A perfectly suitable solution. Or the two moonflowers I have. Or two EFX500s. From your description Steve, it's not a big room, so wouldn't need a lot.

The audience/type of function has a bearing also. Powerbar is probably the most versatile option, added to which, if there's little or no ambient lighting, you're covered. I've lit large halls with only a Powerbar before, no problem.

    More than one?

Agree with the above, quality not quantity. I've done a 16th before in a venue that was a similar size, but I didn't know anything about in advance. I took 2 x Jellydomes, 2 x Cougars, 2 x LED Mirror scanners and a small cluster laser. Luckily I had all the fixtures under DMX control as with everything on it just looked a royal mess! Under DMX control it gave me loads of different effects to play with and on average I had between 2 and 3 fixtures on at any given time.
