What difference does this make if it's for hire?

Any dotty LED effect will do surely.

Jellydomes have been proving very popular for home hire as they easily fill a room and can be stood on any flat surface.

I'd imagine any moving effect - Moving head or scanner wouldn't cause such an issue. I used a single triclops with a couple of small Par cans for a living room not so long ago.

None of my customers are ever going to ask for it by name and it's not to my own liking so I wouldn't take it out as part of a package.

The more I look into this the better the cheapo LED scanners from maplins look, the ones that are Abstract VR8 copies. They ain't super bright, they look tidy, have a variety of patterns and are cheap as chips.

Actually some old Smart Sound Px' with LED conversions might do the trick if I can find some.

Not sure I really understand what you are saying in the first part of your post.

Scanners. Not very much coverage and certainly not room filling and generally look crap without smoke.

Tri phase is always great on our living room parties. That and a couple of pars as Darren has said.
Just use the ceiling and a CA8.

Basically here is my idea, when someone asks for a lighting package for their house party, they'll get two tbars with one or two scanners/moonflowers/mystics on each. They'll also get a hazer rather than smoke machine and probably 4 or 6 parcans + controller for ambient lighting depending on the size of the room.

I'm trying to decide what lights to have in the tbars.

The tri phase does look good though.

Would those be the Penguins? I'm just wondering if they have the build quality to withstand hire use. I always thought they seemed a bit flimsy-looking, tbh.

Still, I suppose they're cheap and easily replaced.

House party? I've taken less kit to a village hall gig! What's wrong with the all in one solution of Par/Party/Power bar?
