I don't, and I don't even know what it is! However, this thread instantly reminded me of this thread posted by Steve a while back.

Think Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Dave Edmunds and the like.
Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.

Think anyone would find it hard to play just Rockabilly for more than a couple of hours I would think you could throw in some Showaddywaddy, Buddy Holly , Chuck Berry , Little Richard & maybe stuff like Dire Straights - Money For Nothing ?

Funny enough I have a full weekend of rockabilly coming up as a follow up to a elvis festival weekend im also doing in Porthcawl.

I dont know much about it but its a mix of old rock and country music from the 50s era.as im only filling in blanks in between artists I hope il get away with what little knowledge I have.

Il try get a small play list up for you in a day or two.

It all depends on the people booking you and the customers who turn up.

If they are expecting serious Rockabilly - then if you move away they will soon let you know in strong terms.

the other issue is can you play modern rock a billy as well ? some like it but the purists wont

If on the otherhand its a bit of a mix then you may be able to get away with most fast Rock n Roll from the late 40s,50s & 60s.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES play any Showaddywaddy at a rockabilly event!

I'm sure Martin will give some good suggestions for this. When do you need them by? My HDs are otherwise engaged at the moment, so I can't give you an extensive list, but some more off the top of my head:

Colbert Hamilton = The Boys Are Back In Town
Dave Edmunds (with or without the Stray Cats, depending on what you can get) = The Race Is On
    Ronnie Dawson = Rockin´Bones
Reverend Horton Heat = Revival / Baddest Of The Bad
The Rocker Covers = Bad Case Of Loving You / (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) / Roxanne / Sex On Fire / Don't Stop Believin’
Big Six = Twentieth Century Boy (Truman Show Soundtrack)
Voodoo Swing = Burnin' Love / Hillbilly Rock'n'roll / Voodoo Continental
Johnny Cash = Folsom Prison Blues
Sonny Burgess = Red Headed Woman / We Wanna Boogie / All Night Long
    Million Dollar Quartet = Paralyzed

Pretty much anything by the artists mentioned in the other thread will do (But make sure the Setzer stuff isn't Brian Setzer Orchestra)

Also some lighter Psychobilly will also go down well:

Legendary Shack Shakers = Old Spur Line
Charley Horse = Eastbound & Down
Demented Are Go = Old Black Joe
Empress Of Fur = Johnny Voodoo
    Frantic Flintstones = Enjoy Yourself
Guana Batz = King Rat / Bring My Cadillac Back / One Night
Long Tall Texans = Breakaway / Get Back Wetback / Don't Go Back To Rockville
    Pharaohs = Blue Egypt
The Quakes = Paint It Black
The Sharks = Surfcaster / Bye Bye Girl / It's All Over Now

Check out stuff on Sun Records from the 50s, tons of original Rockabilly.

    Hope this helps.

EDIT: I was obviously typing at the same time as Creature. His list covers most (if not all bases on the old school side of things) I've done events at the Ace Cafe where the Rockabilly side of things has comprised of a combination of his list, & mine from this & the other thread.
