Selling as a complete setup or individual items.
Hello MDD!
First off, it's been a long time since I've used the MDD, so hello again!
Second of all - due to a career change, I am no longer operating as a mobile DJ, and played my last Wedding on Saturday night.
I am keeping the Mackie PA, and my play out system - however all my lighting, stands and trailer will be up for sale.
This isn't a for sale thread, however I'm just after your opinion.
I have the following for sale:
- Ultimax Deckstand with Trusslite - which I have prewired for 5 fixtures inc. power & DMX.
- 10x LED Par 56
- 2x EVL 150 Proscan w/ flightcase
- 1x Acme ImpossibLED w/ case
- Prolight Nebula & Prolight Zodiac w/ combined case
- Prolight deckstand star cloth
- 6ftx4ft Conway box trailer, which we ply-lined w/ ramp
- 1.2m rolling flightcase
Now clearly, the rolling case & trailer would be sold seperately, but considering the truss has been prewired for use with the lights I'm selling - would it make sense to sell it as a package?
I'm more than happy to sell separately, but thought the truss and light combination may be useful?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts - I shall be making a for sale thread shortly.

You'll always get less for kit if you sell it as a package (mostly because people will typically end up buying bits that they already have or just don't want, which diminishes the value in their eyes).
Unfortunately the majority of people are also very unlikely to see the value in the pre-wired truss (despite the cables costing a pretty penny) and will compare the price you're asking with the second hand price of an un-wired truss.
There will be exceptions (e.g. people who are looking for exactly what you're selling) - but you'll have to wait for the right person to come along to get your asking price, whereas if you break the kit up, you'll have people interested straight off (as we've already seen).
