R80 spot light bulbs - Any alternatives?

Hello guys,

I have 4 X really 'retro' wooden light boxes that use R80 60w bulbs (red, yellow, green, blue).

I really like them and they look amazing at a disco, but the main problem I have is that I'm forever changing the bloody bulbs! At £2.50 a bulb that isn't cheap either!

I'm also thoughtful that most countries are banning the production of filament bulbs, so I'm thoughtful that as retailer stocks diminish it will become harder and more expensive to source these bulbs.

Do anyone else have the same problem? And has anyone else manged to find suitable LED replacement bulbs that still look good and function well with an external controller?

Any help and opinions appreciated.

Ebay is your friend, I got 10 ES R80 Coloured bulbs for £7, I use them as heat lamps rather than disco use, They last a good 6 months at 12 hour use a day in a humid tank so no issues on being cheap and nasty
