On the other hand. The wedding I did last night was a great night, I finished at 12 o clock and everyone seemed happy, And the bride was one of the most nicest, chilled out brides I have ever had the pleasure of djing for

Every gig and every customer is different but on the whole my experience is that many wedding parties the guests have travelled long distances and/or been up at silly o clock or have young children or are old and feeble and that midnight is often well late enough.

May I echo every word of Theo's post.

    Yes, you may!

But please use a question mark next time you ask a question. I've come to expect proper punctuation from such a language-competant fellow as yourself!

Another thing to consider in this tough economic climate is the price of drinks in these high end venues and Hotels. Suddenly people see their Pockets/Wallets/Purses emptying at a rapid rate of knots.

The £100.00 quid they started out with is now down to a tenner and it's only 9pm.

Had a wedding Saturday, at the finish time of midnight still had 70 people on the dance floor all shouting for more and the hotel manager giving me dagger looks to rap up at all costs!

Bride and groom even offered me £200 cash to do another hour! There was no way that was getting past the manager!

I'd have allowed your criticism if you'd spelt competent correctly! 😝

I'm not entirely sure that a question mark is required in the case above, my ignorance is embarrassing. Further investigation is obviously needed.

I'd say an interrobang would be more appropriate.

In my defence, it was late!! I didn't get to bed until 5am Monday and was up at 9am and the spelling part of my brain switched off at about 9pm! Also, I'd been watching Home Alone and I was spelling it as "the French say" it!!!
