Isn't that it's model number? The Impossibled LED-777. When I had the DMX settings programmed for me this is the name Chamsys used for the settings. L777 does come on when you first switch it on as it goes through it's startup process. But once this is done, it should change to it's Show number (Sh* on the display).

If the LEDs are just flashing on and off it sounds like it's in DMX, or slave, mode. Maybe adjust the settings to make it S2L and a Master fixture. Once you've done this you can then pick your show - for S2L I use Show 0 (Sh0 on the display) as this cycles through it's programmed show and gives more variety.

I'd recommend DMXing it, though. Since I've done this it's completely changed the effect of the fixture.

I link them with a DMX cable and use in master slave config, using a CA-8 hand control, all i was getting is the start-up flash constant, tried going into programme but it would not let me, it's possible it has an internal fault that will need repair, thanks for the reply

Maybe a faulty dmx linking cable.
Have you tried running the light on its own, just in sound active mode, not dmx or slave.
