I am doing around 70 weddings a year. Most come from Google, word of mouth and venues recommending me.

I have finally stopped doing Wedding Fairs and have reduced advertising. This is saving me £3000 per year. Now at just £1000 per year for advertising... and most of that is spent on pens!

In nearly 10 years of DJing I have only worked with a Wedding Planner TWICE!

    All the best

Surely your experience would tell you what the overall most popular songs are for weddings? Why would you need a list of the top 10?

I know there are the 'usual suspects' party hits - but this all sounds like DJ'ing by numbers to me.

I set out to try and establish the "perfect wedding disco" show. My experience shows there's no such thing as every disco, wedding or otherwise, is different. What seems like a guaranteed floorfiller at one show may well bomb at another. You have to read the crowd, play what you think then adjust accordingly. Like every show you do. It's one of the basic skills of being a DJ.

DJ Event Planner just published the Most Requested Songs of 2013 in the UK.

    Check out the list here:

    Hope that helps!

I tend to make it up as I go along, unless I've got a playlist, or strict instructions.
Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.

The one that did surprise me was number 133 - the original King Harvest's Dancing in the Moonlight rather than Toploader's cover (not that there's much difference between them).
