I never said it was easy!

Possibly my typical clients are different, they're more music orientated than image orientated, so my set-up rarely gets discussed. It's decent but that's more for my own benefit. Perhaps a set-up with the 'wow' factor and a new website to go with it might attract the clients you want and also give you the confidence to ask for a higher fee.

You definitely need a complete revamp of your website - it's actually quite difficult to read the small font size and it's a bit boring. Do a bit of research and look at some other premium DJ sites and take inspiration from what you like abut them (be inspired - don't just copy!)

Agreed - I just need an idea about where to start. All of the small businesses I've worked with before have targeted a fairly broad customer base so marketing has been a fairly simple affair. Targeting a specific type of customer is new to me.

At present I know I've definitely got the wrong customers because they rarely look beyond the price....

The issue I have isn't so much to do with confidence, I know that my "product" (in terms of kit) and service (in terms of experience and ability to deliver) should command a higher fee, it's just that the customers who are coming to me at present don't value either of those things.

I'll pass that on to my web designer and go back and look at the site and content again I've decided to invest some of the cash in trying to improve the stock of photos I have and I've contracted a videographer for the two parties I have this coming weekend to grab some better still photos and to put together a couple of short promo vids to add to the website - hopefully these will support a website rebuild as well.
