They are only being used for the mid and high range as the KAB is doing all the Bass.
They'll do you fine like that, their biggest problem is they're not good at the low frequencies.

Ah. In my very humble opinion, it's no contest. Look at Mr Jackson's review of the Yamahas on here* ( at least I think it's on here and not another forum ). They're superb. Their price tag equates with their quality.
* It was indeed on here. They're on my shopping list when ( if ) I have a big lottery win

I'd second that. The Yamaha's are very good but everyone seems to be coming out with something very similar eg. EV, Mackie . Sometimes I wonder if there is a great big factory somewhere in the far east making variants of a single model speaker.

I still have the new Peavey hisys system sitting in my living room that I tested for them and it is a very hi spec similar system to the Yamaha and dare I say it Nexo options (cost vs efficiency). Great set of speakers for the price tag - see this months promobile for a write up.
I have the 12 sub too, which is great!! Although i am sticking to my LD dave mk 2 / RCF passive top set up.

Well if FBT/ Martin don't beat QTX, there's something sadly wrong somewhere.
Toby, as I've said a few times, know the limitations of your kit. I used a pair of QTX actives for up to 100 people, with no problems. As stated though, not for a bunch of Young Farmers wanting the earth to move for them.
Don't ask budget kit to perform as if it were touring grade PA. With that proviso, it can do a fine job for you.

I got a pair of Alto TS115A the other day. They seem quite good but yet to test to them at a gig yet.
I got this package below: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alto-TS115...item2ed0e7df89
I think I got a good deal, I only paid £400 for all of the above, brand new and boxed (not B stock). It's now going for £650 for the same package!

If weight isn't much of an issue, the ART 312 A's by RCF are a good shout and can be used without a sub...

I've got a set of the ART312's, but the passive ones - still weigh a ton to put up onto poles. Very good sound quality though
