I’m sure this bride has access to my own personal favourite artists/tunes list - it’s going to be great night.

'As promised, here's a list of songs/artists we'd love to hear! We asked our guests for any advance requests and some of them came back with some suggestions also.

Quite a few of our family members have requested some northern soul, pretty much all the classic tracks - particular favourites:
Do I love you - Frank Wilson
    Sweetest Feeling - Erma Franklin
Your Love keeps lifting me higher - Jackie Wilson
    Tainted Love - Gloria Jones
Out on the floor - Dobie Gray

Other artists/tracks I'd love to hear:
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis album especially
Al Green - I gotta be more
    Gladys Knight - my imagination
    Aretha Franklin - respect
Creedance Clearwater revival - bad moon rising, Proud Mary
New York Dolls - Personality Crisis
Any David Bowie - quite like his eighties stuff!
    Teenage Kicks - Undertones
    Curtis Mayfield - Superfly

Also like Toots and the Maytals, the who, the jam and the rolling stones and brit pop etc and happy to hear some of that too.'

Well, by the beginning of February, they may have to wipe the smile off my face with an angle grinder!! The next three gigs are smack dab in my various comfort zones.
First one is supporting a rock covers band, and my musical instructions run :

As also mentioned I would like at least 5-6 consecutive songs for the same genre of music, perhaps starting with 60s/70s/mowtown/80s before/after the band’s first set, I would like a SKA section after the band’s 2nd set followed by dance/pop music from 90s/00s and music in the charts now and finishing with slow songs, the last song being Ed Sheeran – Perfect. Obviously the aim is to get people on the dance floor so I am happy for people to request songs which can be played within their genre.

So far, so good. Second one?
Well here's the " must play " list in its entirety.
Oops Upside your Head The Gap Band
Cha Cha Slide Mr C The Slide Man
    Penny Arcade Roy Orbison
    Macarena Los del Rio
Fast Food Song Fast Food Rockers
    Cotton Eye Joe Rednex

Yay, party time! The rider is no problem: A mix of Dreamboats and Petticoats, Elvis and hits from the 60's and 70's upwards will be great

And the cream of the crop? One passed on from Martin, Funkymook. Instructions:
Keen to keep the cool 60s feel not lots of cheese but realise a lot of the more danceable numbers are cheesy!

Some of the many stand out tracks -
    Gary U.S. Bonds New Orleans
    Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit
Johnny Kidd & The Pirates Shakin' All Over
Julie Driscoll & The Brian Auger Trinity This Wheel's On Fire
Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels Shake A Tail Feather
Simon Dupree & The Big Sound Kites
    The Coasters Poison Ivy
    The Guess Who American Woman
    the doors break on through
    the doors light my fire
    the surfaris wipe out
strawberry alarm clock incense and peppermints

I've got the new Kaleido for a psychedelic feel, and the hippy outfit will be coming out of the dressing up box.
Excalibur. Older than the average DJ.
