Hi there... anyone any experience of fixing these? - mine failed last night because I stupidly went to attach the mains cable when it was live... there was a spark and now the unit is dead..
The kettle lead is OK, I presume that the internal fuse has blown..(2A HBC 5x20mm)
Trouble is that having removed the bulbs and then the frontage, I can see the guts of the thing, all wiring looks fine, but I can't find the aforementioned fuse!!!
Any clues out there as to where it is??

Usually directly underneath (and part of) the actual inlet socket itself, accessible from the outside of the unit, you'll need a small screwdriver to open it.

Indeed. But: from the manual
Changing the Fuse.
Occasionally, when a lamp fails, the fuse may also fail. If this
happens, disconnect the power and remove the lid. The fuse is
located on the circuit board, between the lamp holders for the red and
green lamps. Replace the fuse by a new fuse, type 2A Quick-blow,
high breaking capacity, 5 x 20mm.
This fuse will have a ceramic case, and be labelled F2A.
Do not replace by any other type of fuse. If the new fuse blows,
consult a dealer.

Thanks guys... seems like I'm going to disassemble this more than I have already... will come back later...

Pe7e was indeed right... thank you for that...the fuse holder flipped out whils I was trying to remove the mains inlet from the casing...
Excalibur, mine is obviously an older spec...
whilst in there I did find that one of the lamp holders was loose (they're bolted to the pcb), so I tightened that up all back working!
Thanks again

A rare occasion when I'm happy to be proved wrong. Glad it's all fixed and working. Only word of caution is to ensure the replacement fuse is of the same rating and design.
