I'll have a think on this one. I'm sure Martin will have some suggestions for you. What's the event? This might have some bearing on my reply (see similar thread on Rockabilly for reasons)

Some to be going on with

The Small Faces = Sha la la la le
    The Who = My generation
    The Chords = Maybe tomorrow
Spencer Davis Group = Keep on running
The Pretty Things - Don't bring me down

Here's a few playlists with a Mod/60's/NS/Soul/R'n'B/Ska flavour (and you'll see some of the same tunes pop up in all of them). But as always it depends on your crowd, a lot of scooter boys cross over into Indie for instance - best have a word with your clients to see what they mean by 'Mod'.

    Hey Thanks Guys!

"Mod" is my word Steve. I'm propping up John Power (Cast, The La's) at one of his gigs. I consider myself pretty competent around the Britpop and indie genre's you'd expect at such a gig but like to drop in something less familiar every now and again. I've experimented dropping in the odd soul, ska, punk, 2tone, 60's etc between more established Britpop fair and it goes down well with the terrace types gigs such as this tend to attract.

Right. I'd think you could get away with some Garage Punk & Freakbeat as well then. Louie Louie would probably be a good inclusion.

I'll post some more when I've had a think later.
