    Wink Abba night

I've got an Abba night this weekend, would appreciate any suggestions. Won't be abba all night but mixed with seventies/disco tunes.

I did a Bay City Rollers night a few years ago. I basically did a 70s theme warm up then 30 minutes of the Rollers and then mixed some 70/80s music for the rest of the night. I also donned some tartan trews rolled up a few inches and had tartan scarves tied to my wrists.

I did have the advantage of the crowd sitting down to dinner beforehand so the dancing juice was taking effect before I started. I was quite apprehensive about it but it turned out a hoot, probably because I made the effort to interact.

    I WANT THAT GIG!

Sounds like a cheese night waiting to happen to be honest. Glitter wigs, jumpsuits......and that's just the chaps turning up

Honestly, build it up with a mix of up-beat 70's and 80's before the main event (you won't get anymore than about an hour of dancing Abba tunes, a lot of them were quite slow)....

Has the potential to be a brilliant night from the sound of it

Just wondering what experiences others have had with themed nights, as mentioned can't really play abba all night.

Mark - you've just posted my dream playlist!

Add to that a good dose of Bee Gees, a little dribble of KC and the Sunshine Band, maybe even a smattering of Rick Astley and that's one hell of a playlist

Is it just you or is there a tribute band as well? My ABBA nights always have a band along, so I never have to play any ABBA themselves, usually just a big pile of 70s stuff.

Surely there's a band if it's an Abba tribute night. In which case I wouldn't play any Abba at all unless it was requested after the band have finished their last set.
