    Default Pioneer XDJ-R1 any thoughts?

Seems to tick all the boxes,

Does anybody use one or anybody got any thoughts.......

Might just be time to have a forray back into the midi controller world.

Good post as I have been looking at this myself as well because I like the idea of remotebox, controller, USB and CDs.
I do believe when it first came out there was issues with the software but I do believe they are all fixed now

Hmmmm. I've got a Denon MC2000 you can have cheap, only used once.

I believe the issues have been ironed out with updated firmware, definitely ticks all the right boxes as regards the features I am after.

I had one of these for a short while but wasn't impressed by either the sound quality or the mic EQ, compared to the MC6000 or V4.1.

Sorry Ian, I must apologise. Sometimes I forget that people might take me seriously. The offer to sell it to Andy was a bit of an in-joke. It isn't really for sale.

OK, the serious explanation. I bought the 2000, and it had a disastrous first outing. When I contacted the dealer I got it from, he suggested remapping it correctly. I was sceptical, and fancied geting a VMS2 from our Teutonic friends at a stupid price. The dealer was more than happy to take it back, and swap it for some other kit I wanted from him. I decided to give him the chance to sort it out, so on Saturday, it will be back with him for his guru to talk to it sternly, and tell it to behave. Time will tell if this was a good move.

Sorry to get your hopes of a cheap controller up.

Interesting comment I found the MC6000 to be pretty poor and sold it as I didn't think the sound output was very good, maybe I need to try the pioneer first.

And the microphone inputs are not that great. (Add the default midi mappings in VDJ8 are all over the place, works fine in VDJ 7 though)

I must admit, I'm considering an alternative controller.

Fortunately I never got to use the 6000 with vdj 8
And the workaround for the mic was an inline attenuator

On the whole with a cheaper set of cabs the sound was acceptable just through bigger systems it was a bit shy.
