This time next week I should have taken delivery of my first lights. I'm opting for the ADJ Dotz Tpar system. Initially I'll team it up with a couple of fx, one gobo based, maybe LED & a laser. I'm not a huge fan of cluster lasers but they can fill a wall or ceiling nicely & look grand with haze.

I'm opting for the tpar because I've seen bands who have lesser lights & they seemed puny to me. My reasoning is why risk being disappointed? It's not that much more cash for extra power.

The tpar will also simplify powering the other 2 lights & give me a degree of control I've never had with the boss' setups. If I find the programs of the tpar limiting, a dmx controller won't add much cost.

Regarding frontage, I'm going to have a crack at making a facade which I'll backlight. I'm pondering options there but it'll likely be a h20 or similar. It could look really neat I think. I used to make all my own gear years ago, even down to the light controllers so it shouldn't be hard.

    Ditto.

However finding the S2L a little to sensitive, even on lowest setting.

Thinking of trying my Obey 4 on them.

Yeah the revos I have to tolerate every week go berserk to sound. I doubt even DMX can stop them sucking though. The revos I mean :-)
